Sketches & Studies

I was organizing my hard drive and thought I would share a small number of my daily sketches, or studies, from over the past two years.
I often try to focus study time on areas I feel I am weak rather than trying to create a nice image. I usually paint these in a single sitting with a very small / zoomed out canvas, often with no pressure sensitivity, trying to force myself to focus on making clear and confident marks.

Many of these are studies from films, or photographs, that I thought were striking – some are simply sketches inspired by a piece of reference. Apologies about not having a reference link on-hand.
